I think many people don't like this subject..
I think literature is very confusing for me, because I must understand about all of the terms of this subject. I must understand not only the story but also the writer.
oh...I feel so confuse about this subject..my lecturer gave me assignment to find the style and tone of the short story "the lady or the tiger"..
maybe for the students who have given assignment about the characterization it's not difficult like mine...

In the story, there is a princess, a king, and a royal subject. The princess and the subject were having a love affair. When the king found out, he wanted to punish the man since he was a lower rank in the kingdom and he dared love the king's daughter. The trial consisted of two doors. One had a tiger and he would be attacked by it, unlikely to live. If he chose the other door, a woman came out and the two of them were instantly married. The princess, who was watching the trial, had figured out which door held the lady and which door held the tiger. Relying on her to point him in the right direction, he waited for her signal. She pointed to the right. Now, this is where the story ends and the conclusion to what had happened (either the lady or the tiger) is up to the reader

Stockton's style is excellent. . His characters are genuine, colorful and memorable.
Stockton also demands a little more than an attentive audience with his readers. He penned interactive literature with the title story and its sequel, but also demands that listeners or readers be thinkers. He tends to tuck moral and ethical principles in his stories as well, but this does not make them preachy in any way.

ok...actually I review this movie because I have to retell it in public speaking class. why do I choose this movie? It's because I think this movie is great and it is the spectacle that must be watched by a teacher.

Freedom Writers is a movie based on the true story of the life of a teacher in Long Beach, California, Erin Gruwell (played by Hillary Swank). Erin worked as an English teacher when the racism was the main issue. Erin taught English in the classroom 203, where there were diverse racial gang who always clustered, such as race cambodia, black, and one white.

In the early arrival of Erin, the students had no interest in his presence. They were very sentiment towards white people. They assumed that Erin did not understand anything about their lives is hard, life is always in the shadow of war and violence. For them, life is how they are "survivors" of violence, until the shooting on behalf of "race".

Many challenges had to be faced by Erin, both of the schools that are racist, until the husband and father. Discrimination was performed by the school, such as separation of classes, as well as facilities that subtle differences between the white race and the race beyond that made Erin sad. To be accepted by the children of students, Erin looking for ways to approach and appropriate teaching methods. However, since Erin was busy with the approach to children and working part-time students, new problems arise, she was divorced by her husband. Until finally, his father, who initially did not support, turned to support the work Erin.
But Erin was not discouraged to keep trying to approach the students.


Erin familiar with the conditions of children in groups with students who are always their own race. Finally, he found a way to "reach out" their lives by giving them books, and asked them to fill it with a daily journal. In fact, when schools discriminate book facilities, Erin was willing to work part time (part time) in several places in order to raise money to buy books that were unable to read by them, that Anne Frank's diary (The Diary of Anne Frank)-a Jewish victim Holocaust. In this film we also can see how the effort of Erin to bring a woman helper Anne Frank, the Jewish children who lived in the days of Hitler and his holocaust. He brought her To share their stories to the students of a "disaster" that happened because of racism, as well as other efforts Erin who got the challenge of school parties.

Finally, Erin's persistence in educating their fruitful results. Those children, who initially hate each other because the differences of race, eventually became friends and break down racial barriers between them. In fact, when there are shootings that befell a friend of her student, he teaches about the meaning of honesty.

ems actually is not difficult subject. every time i learn about it, i feel dizzy with the terms.
but now, i have to summerize this subject that i had learned.
i felt confusing when i had to arrange that point.
i have to try although i always feel lazy..

i can't forget this moment..
i joined the seminar about "how to be a standard international teacher". i joined with my friends. i thought the seminar would be a bored thing, but my guess was wrong..the seminar was interested. i didn't regret to go to the event.. cause i felt satisfied. all speakers could make the audience enthusiastic.
one of the speaker is Mr. douglas, he's from USA.

oh...i hate this condition...
i realize that i know nothing about english. my english is bad..
actually i want to improve my english, but why the laziness always come to me? oh no, i think it come to averyone. but there're only a little that can against it. i do proud of them..
but there's someone that can make me spirited. at that time, i promised myself that i will do anything that can improve my english.
so i began by browsing, and actually I can some of website that give me a lot of information that i want. thank you to someone that always give me motivation. thanks a lot.
